CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame Inductee Mark Sanborn
Mark Sanborn was one of the youngest inductees ever into the prestigious Speaker Hall of Fame of the National Speakers Association.
The CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame is the prestigious lifetime award for speaking excellence and professionalism bestowed by the National Speakers Association. It is not a designation. It is the highest professional speaking award given to speakers who have been evaluated by their peers and judged to be among the top professionals in the speaking profession.
The first group of CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame recipients was inducted in 1977. Since that time, the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame selection committee, comprised of current CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame recipients, selects up to a maximum of five recipients each year to receive the award during the National Speakers Association annual Convention. A candidate for the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame award must be nominated by a current CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame recipient for submission to the selection Committee. Candidates selected for the award must excel in the following categories:
- Originality of material
- Uniqueness of style
- Experience
- Delivery technique
- Image
- Reputation
- Professionalism; and
- Ability to relate to their audiences.
To date, 168 men and women have been inducted into the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame. There are currently 136 living members of the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame. Additionally, NSA conferred an honorary CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame award on General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.) in 1999.
