Which reminds me, the single best 3-hour bravura performance (I think she called it a workshop) I have ever heard is called “Word by Word” and was given somewhere back in the late ’90′s by Anne Lamott. It’s available still on Amazon.com – http://www.amazon.com/Word-Anne-Lamott/dp/1880717573
If you care at all about how to write, you should follow Mark’s advice and read both the Stephen King book and Anne Lamott’s book. But, if you just want to be entertained, challenged, charmed and amazed – you must find a way to listen to this workshop by Ms. Lamott.
You’ll also learn that you don’t have to have PowerPoint, videos or 3D animation to keep people riveted to their seats for 3 hours. You just have to be a genius like Anne Lamott (or, ok, like Mark Sanborn – after all this is his blog).
Run, don’t walk, to get this audio of an old, moldy workshop – and then sit back and enjoy.
“Managing by Storying Around” is the buzzword these days and I definitely need to check out the book by Lori Silverman and others….
