John,

Mr. Stewart of Daily Show fame agrees with you. I just saw this yesterday.

http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=184086&title=sarah-palin-gender-card

Since you brought up the double standard applied to VP candidate Gov. Sarah Palin, I thought it was really interesting that the double standard gets applied both ways.

The Spears parents are "pinheads" because their teenage daughter became pregnant, but Sarah Palin is a responsible parent who should be admired for her teenage daughter's decision to keep a baby and get married?

Don't get me wrong, I attended USNA and I am a McCain-Palin supporter, but at some point you have to look past what everyone else is saying and use your OWN values to make your decisions. Everyone, on any side of any issue is going to say what they think and what may advance their own agenda.

I think we (all) spend too much time taking issue with someone's stand and not enough time standing for an issue.
