What Leadership Looks Like

In Potomac Watch in today’s Wall Street Journal, Kimberly Strassel has written the most concise article I’ve read on what’s wrong in Washington during this financial crisis and an example of someone trying to fix it. Do yourself a favor and read her column What Leadership Looks Like.

It is refreshing, and perhaps a source of hope for all, that there are people in Washington that do still act out of conviction, regardless of the political fallout. At the end of the day – or perhaps the next election – he at least knows that when he had the opportunity to do what is best for this country, he did. Leadership, most definitely.

Let us all hope that Paul Ryan is allowed to serve for a very long time in Congress. We are in great need of people with his strength of character. As it was with The Greatest Generation, perhaps it is our turn to show what we’re made of now that we’re faced with an economic situation that could dwarf that of the 1930’s.
